The Akris horsehair origins from semi-wild and free-roaming horses in Mongolia. In the region, horses typically live outdoor all year. Mongolia remains one of the last places on earth where the relationship between man and horse are symbiotic. As such, horses are a part of everyday life and proud culture to their nomadic herders.

Creating refined horsehair accessories requires masterful artistry and expertise at every step. In its processing, horsehair is demanding, even downright stubborn. The historic looms, which were developed to weave horsehair in 1872, produce only 2.5 meters of fabric per day, making the material very rare. Only two workshops in Europe continue to weave horsehair with this exceptional know-how.
